Poetry -Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz

La Cañada de mis antepasados

Sangre y tierra

Born again trailer park empire

Heroine flows through her acequias

Like a Silent breeze blowing abreast her needle littered veins

A Pastel portrait of cement lined life ways

Suffocating a native mindset that decays with digital display

En los tiempos los españoles tenía escalvos

De los dos comenzaron la raza Nueva Méxicana

Pueblo dances heard from el Campo Santo en El Llano de Romerio

Whispering the animosity of inter-mixture

We cannot blame those who display the Santa Cruz while flicking the ashes

Like a frajo of a burnt out people

My people

I am La Villa de Santa Cruz
